We have a course that includes an Assignment Group with 5 brief SCORM exercises. We are seeing that if a student attempts only several of the assignments in this group (2 out 5, 3 out of 5, etc.), their Canvas percentage for this Assignment Group is still 100%. Students who don't attempt any of the assignments are at 0%, students who have completed them all receive 100%, but a student who just completes 1 assignment is still getting 100% credit for the entire assignment group.
Has anyone else experienced this and if so, is there any fix? Any information about this topic - specific to SCORM in Assignment Groups - would be appreciated. Thanks!
Yes, this is how Canvas calculates grades. Imagine if you took 1 of 5 quizzes, made a 100% "A" on it, and your grade in the class was a 20% "F."
After the last day to turn something in passes, Canvas usually enters a 0% for it. If it does not, I enter the 0 manually. Then the grades are correct.
I've seen this cause confusion when a bunch of assignments close and someone's grade drops, but I can not find a better solution.
