I know how to upload a document in Canvas, but I can't figure out how to set the document to open automatically.
I found this page, which would seem to cover it, but can't find any explanation: https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Canvas-Basics-Guide/How-do-I-upload-a-document-in-the-Rich-Conten...
How can I learn how to do this?

Hey @LisaHalverson! Try this...
Once the file has been uploaded and you are still in the editing window, click on the link to the file and then click Link Options
Once the tray pops up on the right side of the window, select the options for Preview inline and Expand View by Default.
Once you save the page, the document should load on the page. (You will not see the inline preview in the editing window.)
Hope this helps!

It would help non-techies like myself if the language used were clearer. The "display option" is "preview inline," but the instructions I was following told me to "open document automatically." I didn't know that "preview inline" meant that!
NOT your issue of course. Thank you so much for your help.
