Sharing feedback with students in New Quizzes

Hello,

It's very possible this question has been answered elsewhere, and I am just not looking in the right place.  Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

I'm new to New Quizzes.  I have been using Classic Quizzes for years and feel I might need to migrate soon to New Quizzes.  I'm trying to learn all I can now by playing with some settings and then testing them out as a Test Student.

Here is what I ideally want to be able to do.  I want to set up a quiz for students where they answer all questions, submit, and then are not able to see any feedback (i.e., correct answers, a list of all quiz questions and answer options, explanations of correct answers, etc.) until after the deadline passes for all students to complete the assessment.  I don't know which settings I should be checking to make this happen.

I've been trying variations on the "hide results from students" options in the Settings area, and I can't seem to get what I'm looking for.  I do eventually want students to see detailed feedback, but only after everyone in the class has completed the quiz.

Do I have to hide everything from the start and then change the settings once the quiz deadline has passed and I am ready to release grades for all students?

I hope this makes sense.

Thank you!

Michelle

Since I feel like this my fault, suggesting New Quizzes to you, the least I can do is help 🙂

You are on the right track with changing the Settings. There isn't (that I can figure out anyway) a way to automate it such that responses become available only after everyone has taken it, but I don't think you really could with Classic Quizzes either. So you do have to go in and change the Settings after you want them to be able to see the responses. At that time you can click Show Questions and then Show Responses and then you will see the typical calendar that gives you options about making the dates that you show and then hide results. So you can automate hiding them after they see them. I just keep the Hide Results from Students button toggled which hides everything until I am ready and then go back in. Hope this answered what you were trying to do.
