So previously Speed Grader showed only the relevant student's posts. It showed their original post and their replies to other students. That way, I was able to grade the student's posts (with speed).
But now, it just shows the whole forum centered on the student's main post. I have no way of seeing whether the student replied to other students or what those replies are.
How can I go back to the old Speed Grader view?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Hi @MichaelBonner ...
It's possible that your school's admin had turned on the new Checkpoints feature for Discussions ... which affected the view in the SpeedGrader. There's been quite a bit of conversation (some good, some not so good) especially around the new view people are seeing in the SpeedGrader. I'm not sure if you've seen this blog posting yet, but I'd invite you to check out this posting: Addressing Your Feedback on Recent Discussion Checkpoints Changes. Sam includes a link to a survey in her blog posting which you might consider filling out. Also, you can leave your feedback directly below her blog so that she's able to take your comments back to her team for further review.
I hope this will be of some help to you.
Take care...be well.

Thanks. This gives me info to share with my admin.
Thanks for the hyper quick response!!
I was frustrated as well when this happened to me. I was about to grade a discussion post and saw the entire thread. I finally figured out how to use this new feature. It will highlight the student's name that you are grading and then where the speedgrader button is, it will say "next". If you click that it will go to their next reply that they posted. It's the best way to not only see what your student did, but you can see who they were posting to.
Yvette - You are the best!!! It was a user training error. Ugh.
Thank you so much for your help!
hi Yvette and all. I am able to click through student responses in the browser, but not the speedgrader in the app. Has anyone been able to do this in the app? I've always found the app to be a great way to grade my discussions efficiently.
Thanks!
I have also found this new SpeedGrader frustrating. However, if I scroll to the top of the screen, I can type in the student's last name (or full name), set it to sort by Oldest First, and make sure the Expand Threads is set to Collapse Threads. This gives me all of the students' posts sorted from Oldest to Newest.
