SpeedGrader

I cross-section my classes every year, and I always use Speedgrader to grade by section. Up until this year, I could click between the different sections and the new section will load. Now, for the first time, when I open a section/period in Speedgrader and then want to open another section, the kids appear from both sections. In order to remove the students from the first section, I have to uncheck the original section I selected; otherwise, students appear from both sections at the same time. This has never happened before. Is this something new for Speedgrader? Is there a way to go back to the old system?

I have put in a ticket with L2 support for this same issue. I have not heard back other than that the engineers are looking into the issue.

I am our Field Admin and have completed the CCTA course. This allows me to elevate tickets within Canvas Support directly to their Level 2 support team.

I have yet to do some grading and just checked that out and you are correct.  A few days ago some one was complaining about filtering in the gradebook view where you used to be able to click on a section and it would show that section.  Then when you clicked on another section it would just be that one.  Now they are stating both sections remain selected and you have to deselect the first one.  They were not happy with that change, and it sounds like the modification to the Canvas code that was made to make that happen as inadvertently affected what is being seen in speedgrader (that affect is not surprising seeing how they are both tied into the gradebook).  I can duplicate the turn off in speedgrader by selecting section1 , then selecting section 2 to see a wording of multiple sections.  Then I click on section 1 again and only section 2 comes up.

To see what is happening, you can look at the gradebook view as you select sections.  The gradebook will show the sections that are being filtered.  So if you click on two sections in speed grader, those 2 sections will be selected as filters for the gradebook.

I meant to post this earlier, but I was off for fall break. Canvas Support has fixed this issue.
