Is anyone else receiving reports from students when attempting to view the Speedgrader annotations on a Google Assignment that they are not viewable to the student? Meaning, the instructor deploys a Google Assignment, uses Speedgrader to annotate, and the system does not bother to produce a Submission Details link/button so that students can view feedback.
Hi,
The assignments were deployed under LTI 1.3. The annotations are from Speedgrader. So, we have tried from the To-do list, Modules and Gades. The Submission Details link just does not display for the student like it does for me. May be because I am also Admin in the system. Students can see the Comments but not the flat file with the instructor's annotations. The students can see the "View Feedback" button, but not the annotations. Sorry repeating the word annotation.
I have faculty reporting the same issue with Google LTI 1.3. I.e, some students can access the annotated file, some cannot. A colleague and I did a test run. They are using MacOS with Chrome and cannot access annotated file--can see my feedback comments & rubric comments, but not annotated pdf.
Thanks for the input. I am glad I am not the only one. Unfortunately, I have not looked deeper if the behavior is device/OS dependent.
Teachers at my school are also experiencing this issue. Teachers are using MacOS and Chrome. Students are using Chrome on their Chromebooks. Students cannot see the annotations (highlighting). There is no DocViewer. Annotations are not seen on the student's Google Doc even thought the teacher can see the annotations through the DocViewer in SpeedGrader.
We're having the same issue at my school. The Google assignment tool is on the assignment page, but no DocViewer with access to annotations. They can see the overall feedback and only access the link to open their Google doc/slides without annotations.
This seems to be a recent issue. Students have said they were able to access the DocViewer last year. Hopefully it's rectified soon; we have taken to downloading the pdf with annotations and attaching it to the feedback, but would love to not have to do that forever.
