Speedgrader view problem

Has Canvas changed the way it displays essays/assignments in Speedgrader? I used to be able to view student essays/submissions in full screen mode, but now it's forcing the view of seeing half the screen as the essay and the other half as the "grade/comment/file" bar. I don't want to see a big blank space where the grade will go -- I want to be able to see and annotate my students' writing! I don't see any way to change this within the ipad app. Is this buried in some setting somewhere? Did Canvas change something about the display? And if they did change it, how can we get the old version back? This is such an inconvenient use of space.

I cannot speak for how it looks on an iPad, but on my phone, that space for grading can be dragged down to hide it.

Thank you mavisclare bringing our attention to this : we are about to improve this behavior on iPad. It is already captured in the product backlog as an upcoming todo for the November 2024 release.
