I have a large course with >1000 students. During the course, there are both group and individual assignments, same as last year. Today when using SpeedGrader for a group assignment, it does not change the dot (indicating there is a submission for the group) to a check mark (indicated submission has been graded) unless I refresh the page every time. When I do refresh, it takes me back to the top of groups (there are 135 groups) instead of advancing to the next one. Any suggestions on what might be the problem? I never encountered this last year.
@DebbieSullivan - I have never graded in groups, but I think I know what you are stating. I know for individuals on an assignment there is the same visual cues. I am wondering if the setting you have for speed grader has somehow been set to the date they submitted or by student name(group name?) instead of by submission status. Just thought I would throw that out in case it slipped your mind or you have never used the speed grader options before.

Thanks Ron. I have tried ALL the settings, and I still have to refresh every time. Last year, once I hit submit, the dot would change to the check without hitting the refresh button. Just adding another time consuming step to the process. 😞
When I went to settings and changed it to the OLD speedgrader, the issue resolved.
If you have not, I would recommend reporting this directly to Canvas Support. If your institution does not allow you to do that, have a member of your Canvas team do it for you. I know that Instructure is taking feedback from officially entered Ideas and Canvas Support inquiries into consideration as the new SpeedGrader is being worked on.

@DebbieSullivan glad you were able to resolve the issue. Unfortunately, it is one that still needs to be resolved by instructure so that the new version can be moved forward.
