We have a faculty member who gets an error message "Error retrieving assignment external tools" whenever he clicks on an assignment in his course. He has not integrated any external tool with this assignment, and his co-instructor can go to the same pages and not get this error. We cannot replicate the error. Does this scenario ring any bells?

The general advice is to do some initial troubleshooting, then contact Canvas Support so a support agent can look at the specifics.

Thank you Stephanie. I have provided this information to our app admins
who manage our escalation to Instructure. We have confirmed, though, that
the instructor is not using external tools in any of the affected
assignments.
