Student Recording Audio for Submission in New Quizzes

Good morning all,

I am working with one of our teachers in her Spanish classes and we are trying to get it set so students are able to record audio as a submission type on a canvas quiz.

The teacher is creating her quiz and creating each question as a essay question. 

When I test this in preview mode it works (like in the screenshot below), BUT when I test it as a student in the class, I do not even see the media/recording button as an option. I tried it with a class of students, they DO NOT see the option to record media. 

A little research is telling me that when building the QUIZ, it is necessary to enable media recording as a submission type. However, that field is greyed out (fixed and unchangeable - locked into an external tool) in the quiz build settings so I cannot do anything. 

This IS an option available for an ASSIGNMENT (see final screenshot below). Is it just the case that this is not something possible with New Quizzes?

I am out here to answer my own question! After a bit of trial and error, we learned that using LOCKDOWN BROWSER is a problem in this situation. If we required Lockdown Browser for the quiz, students were not able to submit an audio or video recording. If we did not requireLockdown Browser, then students were able to submit an audio or video recording.
