Student invited with correct email but wrong name

Hello All- 

I am an instructor. I recently invited all of my students to begin our course. One of the invites I sent, used the correct email address but when I manually entered the student's names, I did so incorrectly. 

The student was able to correct their name in their profile, however, when I look at my course roster, the incorrect name appears until I click on it. I then see the student's edited name. 

How can I correct it on my end so that I see the correct name listed in my roster?

Hi there, @JosephFlick ...

There are a couple things I'd recommend trying:

  • Clearing your browser history/cache.  You can do this by following the instructions listed here: How do I clear my browser cache and cookies?.  After you do this, close out of your browser completely, restart your browser, and then log back in to Canvas.  See if your student's name has been corrected.
  • Press the keyboard combination Ctrl + Shift + R.  This is a hard refresh of your browser...which also clears the browser cache.
