Students are unable to reply to a discussion. The "Reply" button does not appear for them, even though the discussion is published and visible. This issue occurs even when the option “Allow students to reply to this topic” is enabled in the discussion settings. We have confirmed that students are enrolled in the course, but they still do not see the reply option.
This problem prevents students from participating in discussions as expected.
If you use the View as Student option, do you see a reply button?
This is curious. I am not seeing the “Allow students to reply to this topic” option on my end when I edit one of my discussions. Can you take a screenshot of the discussion settings on your end?

Would you happen to know if your institution by chance using a self-hosted Canvas environment? The Discussions interface was updated a while ago, and that is the old interface. Let us know so we can help you!
