Switch assignments from "show by date" to "show by type"

Hi All,

As an instructor, is there a way to force Canvas to display assignments as sorted by type? Right now, my classes are defaulted to sort by date and student have to manually tap (iPad) "sort by date" every time they go to view assignments.

Please see attached photos for an example of what I don't want (what I currently have) and want I am hoping to do.

Hello @jbalish !

At this time, the "Sort by Date" is the default and it is not able to be changed as a permanent setting. You can submit this idea as a feature suggestion- the directions can be found at this link: How do I create a new idea in the Instructure Community?
