View Grades showing all courses instead of just current

Does anyone know how to either hide old courses or change list of courses in the View Grades tab to just show current first?  I have been using Canvas for 6 years and have not had this issue until this current school year.  I was observing two students and only saw current year courses.  Now I see all courses since starting on Canvas for both of them.  I deleted observing the one student who graduated and that helped but still see 4 years of courses and grades.  Its hard to determine which are current courses.  The dashboard is correct with just current courses however it appears there is some setting somewhere that can eliminate this issue.
