Some of my courses have a "View Progress" button at the top of the modules page, so I can click on students' names and see where they're at in the course. It's even in my sandbox course that has no students. However, other courses don't have this button.
There's probably something different in the settings, but I can't figure out what. Any thoughts?

Thank you for your answer!
It ended up being even simpler than that. There's another teacher in the course, and they had been clicking around and changed my role to designer. Most things looked the same, so I didn't notice the role change at first, but I couldn't see all the teacher options anymore. Mystery solved! 😄
Hi @DSSCC -- I jumped into a couple of courses here in my district and here is what I think I have figured out.
You mentioned you saw it in some courses that had no students -- I had a course with no students and didn't see the "View Progress" button -- BUT then I went to the Home Page and click the "View as Student" button, which created the "Test Student." Now I can see the "View Progress" button in Modules (even if there are no other users enrolled)
