Which setting ends the quiz for a student: the Until date or the Time Limit?

Which settting turns off a quiz in progress for a student?

Scenario: A student is taking a quiz that ends at 2pm according to the Until date and time. It is timed, allowing the students have 90 minutes. If the student starts taking the test before the 2pm time and the 90 minutes will take them beyond the Until time, it sometimes cuts off and does not allow the student to continue.

We have a center where students go for proctored tests, they usually look at the Until date for exams to make sure the student will have enough time to finish it. But there is some confusion as to the setting that turns off the quiz, sometimes it's fine and sometimes the student loses access.

Thanks!

Hi @slwilso3,

As far as I know, it's actually a combination of those two things, and that applies both to New Quizzes and Classic Quizzes.  Essentially the quiz will end at whichever comes first, the until day/time or the expiration of the timer on a timed quiz.  If a student starts a 30 minute quiz 90 minutes before the until day/time, they'l get the full 30 minutes to take the quiz.  if they start the same 30 minute quiz only 10 minutes before the until day/time, they'd get 10 minutes to take the quiz.

I hope that info helps!
