I created a class and when I use the link for students to register themselves they get a message that says Whoops...Looks like nothing is here! We couldn't find that page" Page not found.
However if I invite them to the class it works find

I had this problem too, @KelliAnderson and wonder if what I discovered will help you: there was a period at the end of the self-enroll URL. I don't remember why that happened, and I made the mistake far more times than I should have. Another option that might be available in your instance is to add a "Join this Course" link to the course, which would allow you to share the course URL and have students self-enroll that way:
