Why is the Syllabus button inactive on the Canvas Course homepage?
I have used Canvas for many years at my institution. Courses are created every semester. The Syllabus button has always been a boilerplate button on the home page, along with office hours, student resource buttons etc.
This semester the usual buttons are on the homepage. All are active except for the syllabus button.
Can anyone tell me how to active the button?
Yes I have uploaded the Syllabus and enabled the Syllabus navigation. Typically this works. Not this year.

Hi there, @AndreaImhoff ...
So I had to do a bit of searching on Texas A&M University's website to see if I could find any information for you, but I think I found a solution for you. It looks like Texas A&M is now starting to use a new third-party syllabus tool called Simple Syllabus which integrates with Canvas. Since I don't have direct access to Texas A&M's Canvas environment, I'm not sure if you are referring to the normal "Syllabus" course navigation link in your course or if you are actually using the "Simple Syllabus" course navigation link instead. But, per the link I'll share, it looks like your local Canvas admins have covered both of these bases and have information on both.
(At the College I work for, we also have Simple Syllabus, and we ask that our instructors use it instead of the normal Canvas Syllabus tool. So, my guess is that Texas A&M is beginning or has already started to implement something similar.)
Here's the link with all the information: Simple Syllabus - Learning Management System
You'll notice there are sections with a large "+" sign...which expand to see additional information.
I hope this will be of some help to you! I'd encourage you to use the "Support" link at the bottom of the page that I've linked to if you need help from your local Canvas team about this. Good luck!
