The Instructure Community will enter a read-only state on November 22, 2025 as we prepare to migrate to our new Community platform in early December.

You will need to create an assignment for each of those items that you are grading manually to your "Assignments" index page within Canvas. For example, if you are grading something that students turned in to you in a physical paper form (such as a written essay), you can choose the "On Paper" option when creating an assignment, and then you'll have a column in your Grades page for that assignment. Check the section on "Select Submission Type" in the above link, and that will give a description of "On Paper".
