how do I migrate material from an earlier version of the same canvas course

Hello  @kw12  Welcome to the Canvas Community.  Thank you for posting your question.  I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "migrate".  Are you wanting to copy/import content from a previous Canvas course into a new empty Canvas course shell?  If that is the case, you can follow the directions in this Guide: How do I copy content from another Canvas course using the Course Import tool?.  You'll want to be sure you are logged into the empty Canvas course shell as you perform these steps...as you'll be choosing your previous course (where the content currently lives) to import into the new course.
