profile pictures for entire district have disappeared

We are receiving reports from staff and students that their profile pictures have disappeared.  As the Canvas admin when I go to People for the whole district there are no profile photos, only initials.  This is a change from yesterday.  Was there an update?  Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

@jackson_misty I'm also seeing this on my instance. I just contacted Canvas support and it looks like the engineers are aware, although I suggest that you also contact Canvas support so they know that your instance is affected just in case. Hope this helps!

It's happened on two instances I am in, so it must be a system-wide problem, disappearing profile pictures and when uploaded, still not there.  Perhaps another AWS error?  There are one or two images displaying but most are gone.
