"Friendly Description" not displaying for students in Outcomes

When creating Outcomes, there's a description field and a "friendly" description field that is supposed to display for students.

I am creating an outcome at the sub-account level, and have entered different text into the friendly description field:

Description and Friendly Description fields containing different text for different audience.Description and Friendly Description fields containing different text for different audience.

However, when I check the use of this outcome in a rubric from a student account, it is still showing the regular description intended for faculty, not the friendly one:

Thank you @ElijahDow for including screenshots. I did some testing and was able to replicate what you experienced when looking at the long description for the outcome-as-criterion on a rubric. It looks like the only place where a student can see the friendly name and description of the outcome is via the Learning Mastery gradebook. But even there the official name appears. In the screenshot I embedded, it shows the student view of the Learning Mastery gradebook with the mouse overing over the info icon. The outcome has the friendly name ("Super-duper Friendly") on the gradebook but the official name ("SLO #3: Outcome for Group Assignment") in the info popup. However, the friendly description appears in the info popup.

The consistency could be better. The best option here is to report this as a UX bug to Instructure, which you can do via the Help menu inside your Canvas instance. It would be great if their vigilance extended to the Canvas Question Forum, alas it does not.

I’m going to mark this reply as a solution. I realize it does not solve your problem but will help other members of the Community who encounter the same problem.
