canvas says I don't have space to upload an image to my discussion board.

Assuming that you are a student, you only have 50 MB of available storage space in your Canvas account for files (excluding file submissions for your assignments). You may need to check your available storage space in your user files to see how much you have left. Or, you may be trying to upload an image that is larger in file size than what you currently have left for available storage. Please check out this Guide:
