[ARCHIVED] use api to reset the terms of service flag

We are looking for a solution that would require students to acknowledge a "terms of service" style page/popup once a semester when they login. Our faculty are concerned that students are not aware of that some of the course content is copyrighted material.  We are looking for something similar to the "first time login" page to new users forcing them to acknowledge it before using canvas.  One of our ideas was to use the API to reset that flag so they would see the global popup the next time they login, assuming we could customize it's text.

But, we are open to any other options.  Anything that we can do that per semester students have to acknowledge some popup one time.

I am looking for the same functionality. I know the tool we use for Student Evaluations of Instruction has similar functionality, so i know it is possible. I just don't want to invoke that whole tool to get students to click "accept".
