ADDITIONAL FEEDBACK—WHERE TO POST IDEA SUGGESTIONS AND SUBMIT BUG REPORTS
- Idea requests for the Product Team to consider should be submitted in ideas.canvaslms.com . This is the best way to ask for additional or alternative functionality than what is included in the release. Linking to the related idea here so others can find it is encouraged!
- Bug reports should be submitted to Canvas Support. This way, cases can be connected and uniform updates can be provided to those involved. Bugs will not be triaged in this thread
I got excited when it seemed that one of my longstanding frustrations had been addressed by the "Link to New Course" feature, but I was disappointed to see it only addresses creating a course at the root account level, which we never do. No one in the linked idea discussion requested this limitation. Why has it been imposed?
Hi @dgrobani,
I agree that would be a huge limitation to this feature. The good news is that when I tested this in my institution's beta environment, it did work for subaccounts too. I hope this means it's just a weird documentation error (or maybe an improvement since the documentation was written). Hopefully the product manager sees this question thread and can clarify the intended behavior for the release.
-Chris
@dgrobani Fortunately, this will work for sub-accounts as well. The release notes could use an update in this regard, so thanks for prompting the question.
Thanks, @jpoulos!
Thanks so much, @chriscas!
The new admin analytics dashboard screenshots show current course average in a few places. I am assuming this is course average to date, since the start of the term? That is what's presented in New Analytics as well and is not an informative data point for institutions that are using grading periods. We need grading period to be a filterable value on these dashboard or the dashboard needs to default to the current grading period when grading periods are configured in a course. If my principals and assistant principals look at this screen for a current average, they are not going to realize that value is not reflecting the current quarter.
