Does this mean we will need to make updates to existing external tools to ensure they are listed in the external tools selection drop down?

@audra_agnelly, I believe the answer to your question is no.  I believe that because it appears to be a completely different placement, providing a tool/app with an opportunity for your institution to make it available with a higher-level of prominence and less clicks.

In my institution's beta environment I edited (without expecting it to work but to see where the placement was and the basics of configuring/editing) an already existing current developer key.

Below are some screenshots that I put together of the experience.

Based on that, if this tool's/app's developer key is configured/edited properly and supports the placement, I believe this is what the experience would look like from an instructor and student perspectives.  Obviously the experience may vary depending on the tool/app.

@dbrace thanks for clarifying. I tested in Beta and was able to add one tool that does not integrate with Assignment submission and could not add a tool that does integrate with Assignment submission in Canvas, so this looks like something the app developers will need work through as this functionality rolls out. I did not see a way to do this with tools on the Inherited list, which is a bummer. Google Assignments is on that list and is widely used across all courses regardless of content area, it would be a prime contender for a tool we would want to see in that drop-down.

You are welcome!  Yes, Google Assignments would be a good contender for being featured.  We have not enabled it because it does not come with an LTI allow (or block) domain list.  We hesitate to enable it because of non-institutional Google domains (we have a lot of dual enrollment / high school students) creating compatibility problems (especially related to sharing/privacy).

Is it possible to implement Google Assignments without using its inherited developer key?

Thanks for improving the interface for grading schemes. I have been starting to promote grading schemes with my faculty, and the UI has been a bit of a barrier. I have another suggestion: it would be great to be able to navigate directly to "Manage All Grading Schemes," without having to go through either the "Edit Assignment" page or the Course Settings page. I have (of course!) summarized this problem in an Idea submission: https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Canvas-Ideas/Grading-Schemes-Navigate-Directly-to-Grading-Schemes...

In the meantime, if anyone reading this has a suggestion for a workaround, let me know (read the Idea first though to see what I've already tried).

How does a Canvas admin edit the "Default Canvas Grading scheme"?

A "Default Canvas Grading scheme" does not appear in the current implementation of Canvas in production but it does in the redesigned implementation in beta.

In the redesigned implementation in beta, I do not see the ability to edit it and all I am able to do is duplicate it.

For "Mobile Offline Support", does this only provide offline support in the "Canvas Student" app or does it also provide the same ability in the "Canvas Teacher" and "Canvas Parent" apps?

On a related note, should there also be a "Student" role pill in the release notes?
