Canvas Deploy Notes (2024-03-27)

Canvas deploys contain code changes that are intended to fix bugs, improve performance, and prepare for new features. These deploys take place every two weeks and can be tested in the beta environment before the production deploy date indicated in the title of this document. Institutions are responsible for conducting thorough evaluations of their custom CSS/JS with each release and deploy to assess potential impacts.

Summary

In the Gradebook, the start date, end date and closing date display when filtering by Grading Period.

Change Benefit

This update provides instructors with the ability to streamline their workflow by easily recognizing grading period dates.

Feature Workflow

Grading Period Dates Display

In the Gradebook, the start date [1], end date [2] and closing date [3] display when applying the Grading Period filter.

Enhanced Gradebook Disabled View of Grading Period Dates

Grading period end date, start date and closing also display for Institutions with the Enhanced Gradbook Filter feature option disabled. 

Note: The Enhanced Gradebook Filter feature option is enabled by default for all institutions.
