Canvas Deploy Notes (2024-10-23)
Canvas deploys contain code changes that are intended to fix bugs, improve performance, and prepare for new features. These deploys take place every two weeks and can be tested in the beta environment before the production deploy date indicated in the title of this document. Institutions are responsible for conducting thorough evaluations of their custom CSS/JS with each release and deploy to assess potential impacts.
Fixed bugs are located in Known Issues. For related issues resolved in this deploy, view the 2024-10-23 Known Issues tag.

Summary
In New Quizzes, when the Reset UUID on Course Reset feature option is enabled, the course UUID is used to load the correct content and links for each course. Previously, when a course was reset in Canvas, the UUID would remain the same, which could cause New Quizzes to pull in data associated with the previous course.
Notes:
- SIS IDs and Integration IDs remain unchanged to ensure compatibility with external systems like SIS.
- This update may impact other LTI tools. If an external vendor relies on the course UUID remaining unchanged after a course reset—similar to how a SIS ID is used—the updated behavior could affect their integration.
Change Benefit
This feature helps New Quizzes recognize the course as new and reset its content accordingly.
