API returning all my page_views but only first iteration of other users

Hello,

I have a script designed to return a users page views. All the logic seems correct and if I enter my user ID it will return as many of my page views as I request. 
But when I enter a different users Canvas ID it'll only return the initial page of results, in this case 30, and then wont return anymore results regardless of how many the user has.

My best guess is that this is some form of permissions issue, but I'm an admin on my Canvas instance and I should have permissions to view all page view logs as needed.

This was working previously, but I don't understand what's changed to stop this from giving more results for a different user. Does anyone have any ideas what might be happening or has anyone come across anything similar?

is there any way you could post your code (either pasting here or putting on on github, google drive, etc, even if it's temporary)?

I know while investigating this in your previous thread (Solved: API Next bookmark returning no results - Instructure Community - 638050), I did find some oddness with the next link in this API call, but that hasn't affected my own script from getting all pages of any user.  I suppose you could have a permissions issue, but I also wonder if maybe there's something in your code that is  hardcoded with your own user info in your loop logic, and that throws off the second API call for any user but yourself.

Since the API call does work for me, even with the weirdness, I don't think the API call itself is totally broken, so seeing your code and having others try it out could reveal the issue.  Without that, it's going to be difficult to know what to suggest.

Thank you for the continued help, with this and the previous post.

Sorry I'm hesitant to share the code, I think I'd need to run it by a few people before I can share it and that might take a bit of time, and this used to work a few months ago so I'm hoping its just a setting I need to change or something

But no elements of it are hardcoded towards my account, the API token is generated through my account settings page but that's about it. I tried to make it as flexible as possible, and I've cut out as much of the extras as possible so its just doing the very basics of getting page views and cycling through the page views returned.

That's why its confusing me, I don't think there's any issue with the code in of itself. I think its some setting or dependency that's changed that I haven't updated for. I've cleared every cache or temporary file I can find to see if it was some issue localized to my PC but no luck.

If it gave me no results back I'd be happier because it'd at least be an absolute, but the fact it returns the first page but then returns no results for its next page excluding my own accounts results, feels like there's some kind of filter or block preventing me from accessing the information despite me being an admin.

Hi @ColinOBrien,

I have uploaded a public version of my own python script for this (which not only gets the direct pageview data form Canvas but also provides some additional contextual name columns to the data to make it more meaningful to end users) to my Github.  If you have python available on your system, please feel free to run this script and see if has the same results as your own.  Since a slightly modified, non-public version of my script works for me for any user in our Canvas instance, running this could help narrow the problem down to something specific about your Canvas environment/permissions or something with your code.
