New Discussion should show group postings immediately upon entering

Instructors dislike how the group feature works within the new discussions. When they enter there is no immediate means of knowing if there are new messages. Possibly make the dual people icon turn a certain color when new postings are detected or state new postings. The other complaint is once they click on it they can't see the number of posts like they used to with old discussions. An attached image for an example of a fix that would be helpful. Ultimately having the ability to just show them all the time like the old one when it is a group discussion would be the best. Why make them go through extra steps?

I completely agreed.  I use group discussions often.  Currently, when I enter a discussion, I see how many posts in each group and how many unread posts in each group.  This allows me to efficiently catch up reading unread posts.  The redesign eliminates this information and creates a huge amount of extra work and additional clicks for me.  This change makes group discussions much more burdensome.  Please leave that summary information.  Easily seeing the number of unread posts in each group is essential.
