Is there a way to batch edit the available dates of imported announcements or hide them?

After spending 30 minutes in online chat, I couldn't find a solution to this issue. As an instructor, I consider this a major design flaw!

At the beginning of every semester, I import courses from the previous semester in Canvas, including all announcements. However, all imported announcements become immediately visible to my new class as soon as the course is published—unless I manually adjust the available dates for each announcement one by one. This process is tedious and inefficient.

Most instructors do not have the time to pre-edit announcements before the semester begins, as many announcements are created in response to specific situations throughout the course.

I strongly urge the design team to implement a feature that allows instructors to:

1. Hide all imported announcements by default upon course import.
2. Edit available dates for multiple announcements in bulk.

This improvement would save instructors significant time and ensure a better user experience.

Making copied announcements unavailable upon copy process would make the process easier. 

My work-around: I do not include announcements when copying a course. 

I find it more efficient to keep a document with course specific announcements and using this to copy and paste and then edit as needed when it is time to post the announcement in the current course. 

Alternatively, when it is time to post the announcement, I will access it from the previous course (have two browser windows open and toggle back and forth between them). Manually copy and paste from the prior course to the current course.

Some announcements from previous course may not even be needed in current course. The "specific situation" may not come up this time around. I just like to start a new course with a clean slate for posting announcements.
