We've noticed that with the enhanced rubrics, when you check the "Use this rubric for assignment grading" option, if the rubric's points don't match the assignment's points, the assignment's points are automatically changed to match those of the rubric. With the previous design, this didn't happen automatically. Instead, a warning would pop up, alerting you that the total assignment points didn't match the total rubric points, but it wouldn't make any automatic changes to the assignment settings. We believe this automatic change could present some risks and the previous warning should be reinstated, without changing the points.
Oh, YES!! This very issue is what led to my post earlier this week (or late last, it all runs together) about being unable to edit a rubric once assigned. WHY turn that option off?! I'm a professor with nearly 30 years of experience teaching, I *understand* that making significant changes to the rubric will alter things I've already graded. Duh. I'm trying to correct a small error I made in creating the rubric.
Telling me to go back and build an entirely new rubric...again...is not at all helpful.
