Add student to Course including their name.

OI want to add students to a new course. I am the instructor and the only one listed right now as the teacher (role). When I click Add People, it just asks for the student's email address and not their name. My name will come up next to their email address. When the student gets their invitation to create their account, will they then be able to add their name to the account, so then it will show up on the student list? This is a free educator account. Please help!

I apologize that this is a very late response — however for anyone wondering, yes. Upon your students accepting the invitation and setting up their account, their name should appear in the people tab of your Canvas course as well as their email and any additional information that is provided to you on the free instance of Canvas. If not, this would likely be an issue to reach out to Canvas support for to receive more help about this topic.
