How can I edit the Global Navigation? I would like to remove some icons and add a new one. Thank you!

@CynthiaEdwards1 ...
I know there are a few threads here in the Community on how to add custom icons (here is just one of them):
Solved: How do I add Global Nav item? - Instructure Community (canvaslms.com)
...but I'm not sure about removing icons from the Global Navigation menu. Are you an instructor? Are you a Canvas administrator? I guess my question for you would be...why do you want to remove them? If you remove icons from the Global Navigation menu, then if people are reading documentation here in the Community and they see these items are available (yet they don't have access to them), that might be a bit confusing for folks.
Not sure if this will help at all, but I thought I'd provide my $0.02 ... for what it's worth.
Looking forward to hearing back from you soon!
@NoahBoswell ...
The Free For Teacher (FFT) version of Canvas does not have an admin side to it like a paid Canvas account would have. So, I'm guessing that you won't be able to customize like you'd want in that environment.

We are not removing anything major. I think the primary icon is the MyCourseEval, since we do not use it.
Hi again, @CynthiaEdwards1 ...
"MyCourseEval" doesn't sound like an "out-of-the-box" icon in Canvas provided by Instructure. Therefore, my earlier comments about referring to Canvas documentation would most likely not apply. I wonder if your school's Canvas administrator (or maybe that's you?) had added a third-party external tool that placed a "MyCourseEval" button on your global navigation menu?
If you are a Canvas administrator, maybe you could look at your installed apps to see if there is one called "MyCourseEval" (or a similar name) and remove it that way? Keep in mind, if you remove it from the account level, you're removing it for all courses in that account...not just specific courses.
How do I add an external tool to the Rich Content ... - Instructure Community (canvaslms.com)
If you take a look at the screenshot under the heading "Add Tool to RCE Toolbar", you can see several cog wheel icons to the right of each LTI external tool listed in that example. Click on that cog wheel, and there should be an option to delete the LTI from your account (and therefore deleting the tool from all courses in that account).
Hope this might help in some way!
Hello, I have a question regarding global navigation icons.
So I am aware that for most (if not all settings) in regards to global navigation are controlled by a canvas administrator for an institution, and I understand how that works.
However, for free-for-teacher users, is there any way we can add our own icons just for our account? For example, when we create a course Commons appears, then if we add groups the Groups icon appears. However is there a way for us to create our own individual icons that would only appear on OUR OWN account?
I've been wanting one that could be added for a shortcut to discussions, quick access to speed-grader, etc. However it seems that you must have a paid-for institution. I love having as many global navigation icons as I can as shortcuts.
If I can't add custom ones, are there any more icons I don't have listed below that anyone can have? For example Commons and Groups.
Sorry if this seems like a stupid question. I've been trying to find a response for this for a long time, got no direct answer. You seem to always provide great, and positive feedback, to everyone in the community so I'd thought I'd ask you.
Thanks so much, I appreciate your time reading and responding.
