I am trying to use google apps but when I got to the app tab, it is not an option. I am using the free account. Is this no longer available? I know I used it before but now cannot seem to figure it out.

Hi @AmandaKnuth,
There are a couple of different parts to this:
- Google has made several versions of their apps/integrations/tools/LTIs that can be connected with LMSs such as Canvas.
- Different iterations of those from Google did allow an instructor to sometimes take steps on their own to connect Canvas with Google, with either a free Google account or an institution's Google account. I believe that most of what Canvas and Google continue to support require paid-for versions of Canvas and an institution-version of Google.
- Individual institutions have the ability to set permissions for the different roles that exist in Canvas, plus create their own versions of those roles and customize the permissions even more. Your institution might have made changes to what you can and cannot do when it comes to apps/integrations/tools/LTIs in general.
With those comments as a starting point, without being an admin at your institution and knowing what is and is not allowed, the Instructure/Canvas Community most likely will not be able to answer your question and it also might be difficult for Canvas Support (if you have access to it, some institutions do not allow end-users to contact Canvas Support directly) to help.
My recommendation would be to contact your institution's Canvas team or IT Department and ask them for assistance.
