want to make a powerpoint for back to school night. not sure where to begin. suggestions?

I'm confused.  Do you want to create a PowerPoint to put into Canvas?  If so, create your PPT save it as a .pdf, and upload it to a page in Canvas.   I'm new as well.  However, this would be the route I would go.

Another option is to use Google Slides. These work like PowerPoint for in-person presentations, and since they're already online you can easily link (or embed them) in your Canvas course.
