Removing or shrinking play button logo when videos are paused

When watching videos embedded in canvas, I am a student user and sometimes need to pause the video to catch up with my notes. However the play button covers a large portion of the video, and covers up many words on a powerpoint slide. I think a simple solution would just be to make the play button image smaller or a transparent watermark.
