Impact Release Notes (2023-10-03)

In this Impact release, new content for Blackboard Learn Ultra Reporting Categories and Templates and new Inline Templates as well as Canvas Walkthroughs and Campaigns. Accessibility updates are implemented for the Inline Editor, Sub-Accounts, Impact Dashboard, and Users & Permissions.

New Content

Blackboard Learn Ultra

Note: The content team is working continuously on updating Blackboard content over the course of the next quarter.

Reporting Categories and Templates

All monitors inside the Ultra navigation category and the Content category have been checked and updated where necessary, which ensures updated and correct data inside your tool adoption report. Additionally, 139 new inline templates have been created around Ultra navigation for use in Walkthroughs, placing messages, and monitors. These are not visible in your Impact dashboard. When you take an action on a template in your Inline Editor, a context will be generated.

Accessibility

Inline Editor

The following accessibility update is implemented in the Inline Editor:

• The custom help modal receives focus when opened by Keyboard-only and Screen Reader users and displays/announces the keyboard shortcuts.

Sub-Accounts

The following accessibility update is implemented in Sub-Accounts:

• Keyboard-only focus is contained in the Sub-Accounts drop-down menu until the user chooses an action.

Impact Dashboard and Inline Editor

The following accessibility update is implemented in the Impact Dashboard and Inline Editor:

• Required fields are clearly marked as required.

Users & Permissions

The following accessibility update is implemented in Users & Permissions:

• When Keyboard-only users press the Esc key, it does not close the modal if the Feature Permission Group Select drop-down menu is open or when the Feature Permissions toggle popup is open.
• Both the select drop-down and the Feature Permissions toggle popup contain tab navigation until the Keyboard-only users press the Esc key.
