Audio Recording for Music Students

Is there a way to design an assignment where I place a recording of piano accompaniment, as audio media, in the assignment and then have the student play that recording while he/she records him/herself singing with said piano accompaniment?  Thanks

Hello @andy_baker ...

What an interesting question!  Unfortunately, I don't think there's anything in Canvas that would allow you and/or your students to do this.  Canvas is not an audio-editing software.  The best you could probably do is have your students download the audio file and open it up in an audio-editing software (I've frequently used Audacity to edit audio).  You could potentially play the audio while recording another track (singing) on top of it???  Not really sure on that...as I've never done that myself.  Just thinking out loud, I guess.  I'm sure there may be other options out there, so I'll be curious to see if anyone else responds.
