In this season of thanksgiving, we’d like to thank all the people who help make the Community experience so wonderful–teachers, students, admins, parents, we are so grateful for you and all you do!
We also invite you to join us and share thanks for two Instructure superstars!
Scott Dennis (@scottdennis) began his Instructure journey in 2012 as a trainer and quickly moved into a training leadership role, which evolved into a Community leadership role. When the Community had outgrown its Community platform, Jive, a new platform became necessary. Scott then strategized and implemented the Instructure Community 2.0 in its current platform, Khoros. As the Community and its content continued to grow, Scott drove the next evolution by bringing Community Managers and Documentation Specialists into the team you now know and love, the Instructure Community Team. As the team became more competent and confident, Scott was ready for a new challenge and over a year ago accepted the leadership role for L1 Support–the first tier of support. The Community experience is the way it is because of Scott and his leadership through the years–thank you, Scott!
Dr. Sean Nufer (@DrNufer) works in classrooms, both as a professor and as a director of teaching and learning. He enjoys teaching other faculty how to enhance their skills and abilities, and a large focus of his professional development content centers around showcasing innovative applications of the Canvas platform. In addition to his regular jobs, he also manages the website www.HowToCanvas.com and the YouTube channel @HowToCanvas, which has a small but lively following. Sean also works with Instructure as a Canvas Edvocate and Coach. His institution, TCS Education System, formally adopted Canvas in 2013, but Sean was also one of the very first Canvas users at BYU-Hawaii (go Seasiders!) back in 2011. BYUH was the first Instructure client - a fun fact that Sean didn't realize until Josh Coates broadcasted such during the 2018 InstructureCon keynote address. Throughout his teaching and course development career, Sean has received several awards and recognitions, including Canvas educator of the year. As a Disney fan, Sean lives in Orlando, close enough to see the Magic Kingdom fireworks from his bedroom window (yet far enough that they don't rattle his windows). You can regularly find him and his family at one of the Disney parks if you look long enough.
