The LTAP is a comprehensive framework for formally vetting academic technologies. The framework guides informed decision-making about the adoption of learning technologies on campus. It offers a central strategy for coordinating academic technology resources and support, managing security and privacy concerns, improving end-user experiences, and advancing digital literacy.

The Learning Technology Adoption Process (LTAP) at the University of Texas at Austin strategically coordinates the adoption of academic technology using a three-pillar framework that poses the following questions: 1) What is the pedagogical efficacy of this tool? 2) What is the user experience (including privacy and security, accessibility, and usability)? 3) And what is the long-term sustainability of using this tool on campus. The LTAP provides the policy, governance, and adoption infrastructure with Canvas serving as the hub for all LTAP vetted tools.
