Summary
This higher education panel shared insights, implementation strategies, tips, tricks, and lessons learned while launching Canvas New Quizzes.
Details
Each panelist shared their timeline project plan for implementing New Quizzes in their institution. All three institutions had similar implementation plans, including a planning and learning phase and an early adoption phase (encourage users to try and test).
Implementation Successes
- Making both new quizzes and classic quizzes available
- Providing webinars and 1:1 consultations
- Continued support via the help desk
- Creating a community of practice groups for users to share their experiences with New Quizzes
Implementation Challenges
- Adoption motivation - We have many users who are comfortable with Classic quizzes and are hesitant to switch over since there is no sunsetting date.
- Migration tool - The migration tool is known to have issues, and hoping that there will be improvements.
- Accessibility - We have hopes that New Quizzes' interactive question types will be accessible, especially with screen readers.
