How do I use Intelligent Insights to create a list of students who have no activity in their courses but are still active students in the course?
I have tried the following statements:
provide a list of students registered in Fall 2024 who have no activity in Canvas -- This query provides all students with no activity, even the ones that are listed as inactive in their class(es).
This gives me the same results as the first question.
provide a list of registered active students in Fall 2024 who have no activity in Canvas
filtering the above results to only students with an active status -- gives me 0 students
provide a list of students registered in Fall 2024 with no activity in their course. Restrict the results to only students who are still marked as active in their course. This gives me 0 students.
Help!
Hi @NancyOlson , have you tried using the Students in need of attention component of the product for this? You can create a new criteria for students who have no participation and/or page views in the last X days - this might be what you're looking for.
Within Ask Your Data - I tried the prompts that you listed and they seem to produce the expected results for me - it's listing the active students that are enrolled to courses of the term 'Fall 2024' and have no activity. If you're expecting a different data set, please raise a support ticket and our Support team will work with you to determine how to get to the right data.
I agree it does give me the list of students who haven't participated, but that list includes all of the students who are marked as inactive in the class and no longer have access. So how do I get a list that contains only students who are still marked as active in the class, but who have not participated (submitted an assessment) in the last two weeks.
It is removing the inactive students from the list that I can't seem to get it to do. I don't want to wade through 6,000 enrollments when 3,500 of them are already marked as inactive students. So how do I get a list of students whose rule is still marked as active in the class while not having any students who are marked with an inactive role on the list?
