What is the best way for students to submit cloud-based assignments?

I recently discovered that I could assign my students a "worksheet" style assignment that they could complete using the the cloud-based external tool option (Office 365).  However, I have several students who complete the work, but when they try to submit the work all they are submitting is a blank document.  I am perplexed as to why this is occurring and I have not been able to find any threads on this topic, other than how to assign a cloud-based assignment. For some students, I thought it was because they did not complete the assignment in one sitting, but returned back to their work later, but I no longer think this is the reason why their work is submitted blank.  Any thoughts?

Hi there,

We mostly use Google cloud assignments which has worked out great since it creates a copy of the assignment in the students GD.  I'm not sure what is causing your issue but one suggestion I do have it so allow the students multiple ways to submit the assignment. 

We have had times when students cant submit using GD cloud assignments but they have the option to upload a file so the students downloads the cloud assignment and submits it as a file upload.  I know it might not be the best solution but it has helped.
