This behavior has been resolved and deployed to the production environment as of 8/21/24.

Description

New Quizzes launched with Respondus Lockdown browser app on iPad return a "Connection Lost" error when resuming/beginning with iOS 17.6.1.

Expected Behavior

New Quiz should launch normally with the Respondus Lockdown browser app as it did before the iOS update

Workaround

  • Turn off Lockdown Browser

  • Take New Quiz on a Computer instead of an iPad

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Click “quizzes” in the course menu and take the exam. Once the Canvas LTI tool opens, and you click the “begin” or “resume” button, the exam will load and display the error: "Connection Lost."
  2. To exit the LockDown Browser session, click the "x" in upper right of screen, then select "close the browser" and provide any reason, and click "save reason and close browser."
