Users unable to load Dashboard when specific languages are set to their account

This behavior has been resolved and deployed to the production environment as of 3/18/22.

 

Description

 

  • When a users language is set not to the default the dashboard fails to load

  • When you attempt to navigate to Home, People, Grades, Discussions, Quizzes, Assignments, Settings, and Files the course shows a blank white page

  • When a courses language is also set not to the default, course content will not load

 

Expected Behavior

 

Instead, the dashboard or course should load for all language packs.

 

Workaround


No workaround exists at this time.

Steps to Reproduce

 

The update user API call can be used to update the users locale to "en" or another non broken language https://canvas.instructure.com/doc/api/users.html#method.users.update
