Hi @Nancy_Webb_CCSF this has been my experience as well. Since I work in an area that supports the creation of templates where we need to maintain the original as well as pass on a copy of the course to subsequent instructors, this has been a key barrier to us migrating. Current solutions (for the future) which do not work now as far as I can tell would be...
- Export a course and have both the banks and quizzes come along with it. Or if that's not possible then be able to export a quiz and/or export a bank individually. I'm happy to have any type of export!
- Use a tool like Respondus to grab the quiz/questions and pull them down to your computer and the push them up to where you want them to go.
- Share a quiz and/or banks to Commons and then pull them in where you need them - this is least preferred as "sharing" to a commons repository is uncomfortable for faculty working with high stakes exam questions.
Our current workaround for the pilot courses we had use new quizzes was to build them in Classic Quizzes, and export them as part of the course archive. The migrate them to new quizzes. I don't think functionality will be available much longer however. I think some of these items as mentioned above are either "Possibly later" (Export a New Quiz outside of Canvas account - does not describe exporting it out of the institution however...), or perhaps "Before July 2023" (Common Cartridge file does not describe if this an export or import they are working on). Crossing fingers it's part of the July 2023 date in the timeline.
