In the reports section of New Quizzes, I am only seeing a number that indicates how many students selected the option for an answer. For example, 105 respondents picked Rainsford, 1 picked Whitney, 0 picked Ifan, 18 picked General Zaroff. I need to know which students picked Zaroff, for example, so that I can remediate with them. In classic quizzes, I could hover over the number and it would give me a list of students who selected that. I have contacted Canvas, and they say that there is no way to get that information. We used to be able to pull classic quiz reports from new quizzes, but that was turned off in summer of 2024.
Now, the only way to figure out which students missed the question is to go through SpeedGrader. I have to click on each of my 135 students to see which question they missed and create my own report. The reports in New Quizzes are pretty much useless.
How can I get data on which student missed a question without scrolling through the entire SpeedGrader?
Hello @ty_neal -
You are on the money with this idea and I found a related discussion post within the New Quizzes hub here:
Within a reply to that post is a link to an idea submitted in May 2024.
I might suggest posting a response to the first link to advocate for that feature.
Is this something that could become a Canvancement, @James?
We have an indigenous language project that is grant-funded, and we need really specific reporting - what we need is a report that shows a student per row in Column A... Each question along the top row... and the student's response to each question across from their name or ID number...
I don't have the technical know-how to do it, but if it's something a Canvancement could handle, I could look for someone WITH the skills I don't have!
