Grade book unable to grade?

Grades have gone missing. Unable to enter final grades for end of term

Hi  @goodgott  - If you are unable to input grades at all, it is likely that the course is past the ENDS date for the term and/or there is some sort of term date coming into play and the course site is essentially in a "read-only" state. Rather than bore you with the technical details, the best advice I can give to you is to contact the Canvas administrator or the IT support at your institution about this so that they can adjust these dates for the course site for you so that you can input the grades

If indeed you are looking at your course site and the grades are missing altogether that's highly, highly unusual and may eventually warrant contacting Canvas support.  (Also, be aware if you are indeed missing grades, there is a way to find the grade history for virtually everything, as outlined in How do I view the history of all grading changes in the Gradebook?  But really....that should be a last resort.  My hunch is that it is the term date coming into play so check with your local Canvas administrators.)

Good Evening IT support,

Apparently you have locked and erased my courses so that I was unable to grade for my students courses this past weekend as term ended so did my access to my courses including grades.

Might I enlist your aid to resolve this issue as I obviously did not stay up until midnight to grade each student submission as they felt the need to submit their end of term assignments.

I should also like to request a reasonable amount of time following the end of term to complete grading. If the course ends at Midnight, I shall most likely be asleep having worked on campus from 8Am classes through 10pm finish of classes. In the past courses locked following the instructor synching grades.

My students were cheated out of one hour to complete their final exams on line and numerous students have voiced dissatisfaction toward me for being locked out of their courses early.

Thank you very much for the assistance you might offer in resolution of this issue.

Good Evening Ken Black,

Thank you for this idea. I am hopeful to finally RESOLVE this Canvas issue. This is the Fourth Term that my grading, courses, and Canvas have gone haywire. As an instructor it is horrendous that this continues to occur. For the students in this institution this is unforgivable.

As suggested I shall again enlist IT at carrington, though have been previously told to enlist LMS support.

Thank you so very much for your reply.  Unfortunately, this has continued  through 4 terms.  Not only to myself but several people on the Reno campus. When speaking with other campuses apparently it's happening at theirs as well. So even though highly unlikely, This has been occurring.   I have enlisted IT at Carrington IT at ember and LMS support... I have escalated my concerns... No resolution. Why would somebody be working in my open shell of my courses when my students are active in them presently?  I don't have the time to go back and replace grading for my students time after time.

Still awaiting resolution. Hoping it does not occur each term. The students find it extremely burdensome. I find it annoying.

 At least Carlos Silviero is attempting to resolve  Actively.
