Canvas and Infinite Campus sync

We just started infinite campus.  My categories match between the 2 and the nightly syncs work without errors.  However, no assignments really sync because there are no grades.  So, I added some grades in canvas and now I get invalid user.  It has been suggested that this might be because of the test student ( I am not putting in a grade for them).  Anyone have any ideas?

I am a teacher.  We have been syncing for years with power school

@hawkinsdianne If there's an error with an invalid user, check and ensure that the student is actually in your Infinite Campus class roster.

If the student is in your roster and is in the correct section, you'll want to contact your district's Canvas Admin for further support. They can assist and escalate the issue up to Canvas support directly if needed.

Thanks - the user is in the correct section on IC.  We are a charter school so our Canvas admin support is new to this as well.  It doesn't matter which student I put the grade in for.  The error message says user not authorized.  Is that me? Again only get that if we actually put a grade in.  With so many other new things, this is not a priority for our admin- I'm trying to research so I can point them in the right direction.

@hawkinsdianne I'm not sure if that means you or potentially the Grade Passback tool is the culprit. As far as I know, anybody with access to the course should be able to push the grades in -- the only thing that grade passback needs is the ID to link the assignment from Canvas to the SIS.  I would have your Canvas Admin contact Canvas support directly via the SIS escalation route.
